Julia grew up outside of Boston, where she experienced a childhood rich with exposure to the arts and encouragement to create.

She remembers overhearing piano and voice lessons taking place in the living room, and the detailed pastel portraits her Mother made sitting on the easel.

She has taken solace in creativity throughout life, beginning with oil painting, singing and piano lessons as a girl.

She first explored genuine expression as a visual artist in high school, through close attention to dreams, energy and connection with nature, and received her BFA from Green Mountain College in 2011.

She began creating and recording original music in 2018 and is interested in merging the neoclassical and ambient genres to create modern choral music, layering harmonies for a grounding and ethereal experience.

Julia lives in the mountains north of Asheville, NC with her husband Matthew, where she creates her landscape paintings  and recordings from a home studio.
